Male Medical Circumcisions

We offer safe voluntary medical male circumcisions (VMMC). This is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of the foreskin of the penis. It is a recognized intervention for HIV prevention and has been shown to reduce the risk of transmission by 60%. Circumcision carries also other advantages such as reducing urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted infections and penile cancer.

Wanaheda Practice

The circumcisions are done at our Wanaheda Practice  (if possible make wanheda clickable leading to a direction map or some contact details)which has been dedicated to this procedure. For bookings or information you may still contact any one of our practices.

Training

The training for both doctors and the nurses who assist during the procedure is provided by SAFE in association with  USAID.

The procedure

The procedure is safe and pain free and is done under local anaesthesia.

Medical circumcisions can be performed safely throughout the year, including summer.

Reduction of HIV/Aids infections

Circumcision reduces the rate of HIV/Aids infection by up to 60%.

Counselling

We also offer HIV counselling and testing (HCT or VCT).
